Since June 2, 1964, QBANK has financially assisted individuals and families who serve the Queensland police, emergency services, ambulance, fire, nursing and public sector.

Some of QBANK's milestones include:

2016 - Commenced trading under the name QBANK as a member owned bank.

2015 - Changed company name to QPCU Limited at 2015 AGM.

2014 - QPCU celebrated 50 years of service with the release of the QPCU 50th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet.

2011 - Workplace ATMs were deployed at Zillmere and Cairns.

Our recruit package was launched offering new recruits a financial assistance program when first starting their new career.

QPCU North Quay branch refurbishment was completed providing members and staff with state of the art banking facilities.

2010 - Mobile banking was introduced to members allowing web access via mobile phones to complete their banking anywhere, anytime.

A considerable investment was made to the refurbishment of our branch at the Oxley academy. Thereby providing a more modern environment for members to do their banking.

Bridges Financial Planning partnership commenced.

2009 - SMS banking offered to members.

5 star ratings awarded by independent research agency Canstar for: Bluey Visa Credit Card; Bluey Rewarder Visa Credit Card.

Classic and Classic Plus home loans were launched.

An online term deposit – a first for any credit union was developed and made available to our members through internet banking.

2007 - QPCU partnered with QBE Insurance to provide additional services to members.

2004 - QPCU celebrated 40 years of community dedicated banking.

1999 - giroPost (now Bank@Post) available to members state-wide.

1996 - Approval to develop and implement phone and internet banking was granted.

1994 - Two year fixed term deposits and 12 month fixed term deposits were introduced.

1993 - ATM installation at the Queensland Police Academy and Headquarters was instigated.

1985 - Member chequing was authorised.

1978 - First ATM installation was authorised.

1970 - A computerised accounting system was introduced.

1968 - QPCU’s first office manager was appointed.

1965 - First Annual General Meeting where director positions were finalised. First full-time employee started. First annual report – 274 members, approximately $47,878 in deposits and $55,182 in outstanding loans.

1964 -  On 2 June,23 people attended QPCU’s first meeting at the Queensland Police Union of Employees office, Kangaroo Point.

One of QPCU’s first sponsorship commitments was an education bursary awarded to members’ children for outstanding academic achievements.

The first Board meeting took place at the Queensland Police Union of Employees office.
