Chief Executive Officer

Mike Currie has more than 30 years experience working in the financial services industry having worked across many customer and geographical segments, and numerous major transformation projects which have equipped him with the skills vital to successful change management and innovation. A recognised and respected facilitator of change, he brings extensive leadership skills to QBANK.
Holding a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Masters Degree in Applied Finance – Mike is also a Fellow of Finsia, and a member of the Risk Management Association.



Chief Financial Officer

Byron has worked in the Australian financial services industry for more than 20 years, including a diverse range of roles in banks, building societies and credit unions. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Business, Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment and Master of Applied Finance. Byron is a CPA and a Fellow of Finsia.

Byron believes that it is important to lead with integrity and enthusiasm and brings extensive knowledge of finance, capital management and treasury risk management to the role. He is looking forward to working with the QBANK Executive Management team to run a strong, sustainable business that delivers competitive, member-focused products and services. 



Chief Risk Officer

Shawn heads QBANK’s risk management and compliance functions. He is responsible for ensuring QBANK effectively manage risks and meets its prudential, regulatory and licence obligations. Since commencing in 2014, he has built QBANK’s risk management framework and is committed to developing and leading on a strong risk culture at QBANK.
Shawn’s aim is to build a robust framework and culture so that QBANK can confidently make strategic decisions to remain relevant and grow in a challenging and changing environment. Ultimately, he seeks to ensure the interests of QBANK’s members are protected and that they continue to receive the best possible banking service and products from QBANK.
Shawn is an Associate of the Governance, Risk & Compliance Institute. With many years experience as a financial services lawyer and more recently as a risk and compliance professional at one of Australia’s leading fund managers, Shawn brings integrity, accountability and transparency to his role.


Executive Manager - Sales and Marketing

With more than 30 years in the banking and finance industry, most recently in a member-owned bank, Bruce brings a customer centric approach to his Sales and Marketing role.

Bruce holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and has a proven success in achieving business revenue and growth targets and leading sales teams.

Member experience and satisfaction is at the core of Bruce’s focus for QBANK and he uses his experience in leading projects to continually improve the design, pricing and distribution of banking products and services.

Bruce uses his knowledge and skills to create meaningful relationships and working partnerships to provide our members with highly competitive and accessible products and services.


Executive Manager – People and Operations

Kerrie holds a key role at QBANK, leading the development and implementation of our people and culture strategy as well as overseeing our banking operations function. She has worked in a variety of industries and geographies within and outside of Australia including in the U.S. and throughout Asia Pacific.

With over 20 years experience in the financial services industry in a variety of head office and retail banking roles, Kerrie has a strong appreciation of the necessity to “get the people and process issues right” and how this ultimately translates into a positive customer experience.

Authenticity and leading by example are key values for Kerrie as is the obligation to challenge the status quo. Her focus at QBANK is on the development and engagement of our people, creating a culture of ownership and accountability, and delivering exceptional service to our members.
