• The nominated person must reside in Queensland
  • The nominated person must be a member of QBANK or eligible for QBANK Membership
  • Nominees for the Everyday Heroes Awards must be at least 18 years old
  • Nominees for the Young Everyday Heroes Award must be between the ages of 12 and 17 at time of nomination
  • QBANK staff are ineligible for nomination
  • Self-nominations will be accepted
  • Anyone may put forward a person for nomination
  • Awards will not be granted posthumously
  • Sitting state and federal politicians are not eligible
  • Retired nominees will be considered for work undertaken in addition to their official duties
  • Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years
  • Groups of people or couples will not normally be eligible though in exceptional cases the selection panels reserve the right to consider such nominations
  • No weight is given to the number of times a person is nominated
  • Only electronic submissions will be accepted
  • Nominees may be contacted for potential publicity opportunities, which they can accept or decline at their discretion


  1. All suitable nominations will be taken into consideration by the judges.
  2. QBANK reserves the right to create a list of top nominations for each category
  3. Finalist stage – the top three (3) most outstanding nominees in each category will be short-listed as a finalist.
  4. Finalists will be announced on Friday 20 September 2019.
  5. An invitation only awards lunch will be held on Friday 11 October 2019 at QUT.
  6. Finalists will be invited to the Everyday Heroes Awards lunch. 
  7. Finalists are presented with a certificate.
  8. The winners of each award category will be announced at the Everyday Heroes Awards lunch on Friday 11 October 2019.
  9. Each award winner recipient will receive:
    1. $1,000 cash deposited into a QBANK account;
    2. $1,000 donated to their charity of choice;
    3. A trophy; and
    4. Their name on the “QBANK Everyday Heroes Award” perpetual board to be displayed at QBANK's North Quay branch.
    5. The Young Everyday Heroes Award winner will receive a $500 bursary towards their training and development. 
  10. The winner for each category will be determined by popular vote by the judging panel.
  11. It is a condition of winning that entrants consent QBANK to use the entrant's name, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products and services by the Promoter.
  12. The winner agrees to participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the Promotion as requested by the Promoter.
  13. The Promoter’s decision on all matters relating to award winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
