EOI: Audit and Finance Board Committee Advisory Role

The Board of QBANK is keen to hear from members seeking to extend their professional capability by developing board skills. The Board intends to create a group of diverse, board-ready members available to nominate for election as a director of QBANK as opportunities arise.

Accordingly, QBANK is seeking expressions of interest for a 12 month appointment as an advisory member of the QBANK Audit and Finance Committee. This appointment will provide the successful candidate with exposure to Board and Board Committee processes along with informal mentoring opportunities from current directors.  The current Committee Chair is John Just, the former Deputy Chief Executive (Resources Management), Queensland Police Service and former Director, Finance Division, Queensland Police Service.

The Audit and Finance Committee meets approximately 6 times per annum during business hours. A commitment of approximately 3 – 4 hours is anticipated to prepare and attend each meeting. A per diem allowance to cover out of pocket expenses of $100 per day will be paid.

 

The candidate

Candidates must be current QBANK members and ideally possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or similar discipline
  • A strong interest in the QBANK business, commitment to our purpose and an affinity with our bond
  • Experience in the finance field e.g. financial accounting and reporting, budget management, audit
  • Experience with or working knowledge of audited financial statements
  • Experience within a highly regulated environment
  • CPA or CA qualification
  • AICD qualifications will be looked upon favourably but not essential
