QBANK has recently been alerted to fraudulent activity.
Queensland Police have today released a warning for members of the public as Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card skimming devices have been detected on several ATMs across Metropolitan Brisbane.
QBANK urges members to please remain vigilant when using ATMs by inspecting the card insert point and using your hand to cover as you enter your PIN.
What is a Skimming Device?
A skimming device steals and unlawfully obtains identification data from bank/debit cards. These devices are usually a cover plate placed over the original card insert point on the ATM. This attaches a small camera to the ATM which records the users Personal Identification Number (PIN).
If you believe you have located a skimming device please contact your local police station or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
If you believe you have been the victim of card skimming fraud, please contact QBANK immediately on 13 77 28.
